Lance Tilton is a 5th-generation farmer and disaster preparedness educator dedicated to practical, resilient living rooted in agricultural experience and real-world readiness.

Raised in a farming family where self-sufficiency wasn’t a hobby but a way of life, Lance brings firsthand knowledge of resource management, long-term planning, and problem-solving that comes from working the land through good times and tough ones. His approach to preparedness emphasizes grounded skills, realistic planning, and practical strategies that families can adopt without fear or fantasy.

At the Homesteading & Prepping Summit, Lance leads the Disaster Preparedness for Beginners workshop, teaching the essentials of preparing for extended outages and emergencies—from managing basic resources to creating adaptable plans that fit individual needs and lifestyles. His focus is on empowering attendees to become more confident and capable in unpredictable situations, using methods informed by both agricultural practice and lived experience.
